The Insane Initiative

Chapter one -Attack!

Beep! Beep! Beep! My alarm clock was going off at the ripe
old time of 9:00 am. I was supposed to go to a follow up appointment at the
Northwood Mental Hospital. Otherwise known as a living hell. Two weeks ago I
was discharged and sent home after a stay of over three months for being treated
for manic bipolar disorder and depression. It takes a lot to remember when to
take the medication, which one to take and how to do it all without someone
reminding me when to take it all. That person would be my mother. These past
two weeks she took off work so that I could get back to living my life again, and
how to live it. Each and every day was an adventure. I would learn something
new every day. And now I have to do this on my own. Great. I went to the fridge
and got out some waffles to eat with my meds. I was told that I have to have
something in my stomach in order to take them. I always set my alarm for nine o
clock in the morning so that I can eat and swallow my medication. I spread some
butter over the waffles in put them in the microwave. I’m a little weird like that. I enjoy soggy,
buttery waffles. The microwave beeped and I took them to the table and poured
some milk in a clear glass. I took a bite of my buttery, soggy waffles hoping that
today would be awesome. Riiing! Riiing! The phone went off. I looked at the caller I.d. It read – Northwood Hos.
I picked it up. “Hello! This is Maggie from Northwood Mental Hospital. Can I
speak to Janice?

“Umm she’s at work. But I can take a message! I said. They
probably wanted to remind me about my follow up appointment.

“And to whom am I speaking to?” The woman said.

“Amy Risinski” I
replied

“Hello Amy. I just need to call to report to you that your
discharge papers have been lost. Is there a time that you can give us your copy
so that we have it on file?” she said.

“Umm.I can give them
to you today before my follow-up appointment. That’s about the only time I can
do it. I’m busy all week with online classes.” I answered. I normally would
tell a lie to get them to stop calling but this was not a lie. I enrolled to an
online high school to get caught up with all the normal classes I take at my
local high school.

“Okay! Thank you Amy! We will see you at 4:15 then! Bye.”
She said and hung up. I walked into my room and picked out some clothes for the
day. I took out a plain blue v neck tee-shirt and some skinny jeans. I didn’t
care what the temp was because I was gonna be in the house for the most of the
day. I decided to take out my laptop and go on tumblr. I haven’t been active on
there for close to four months now and I have a lot to catch up on. I scrolled
through my dash for what seemed like a close four hours. 11:59 the clock read.
I decided to go to the fridge and get some grape pop because at 12:00 I’m
supposed to take my depression medication. I took a clear glass out of the
cupboards and poured some grape pop in the glass. I followed by taking my pill.
I went into the living room and turned on the news. Suddenly there was what
seemed to be a sort of crashing or ripping sound outside. I flipped on to the news
channel and there was no coverage of the ripping sound. I turned it off and started
to worry. What if the world is gonna end
because of this?
No. It’s not gonna end I just wanna find out what the
noise is coming from. There are screams and buildings being hit, glass falling
and the screams of the helpless people coming from outside. Then a Man in a red and gold suit flies past my
apartment complex. Is that iron man? Maybe.
My eyes focus to a weird greenish gold thing in a hover craft. It’s creeping
closer when I run to the counter to get my medications and put them in my
pocket. My mom always told me if I’m in trouble to grab my meds and put them in
my pocket. Why? I dunno. Probably as a safety thing. I walk to the kitchen and
hide myself behind the counters and drawers. The noise from the things and
destruction continue. I cover my ears and close my eyes. Just when I think it’s
over a bigger greenish gold thing appears. It’s absolutely huge! It’s turning
the corner when it hits the side on my apartment. My body flies out of the
complex and I fall about 30 stories down with glass and rubble following me. I
touch my head and it's wet. Oh god. I’m
bleeding. Where am I bleeding? How much? How bad am I injured?
My last thoughts
are muffled when a piece of something hits me on the head and the day goes
black.

You have done very well on this. Maybe try and have Amy try and connect with someone other than Tony and Clint? All in all, you've done very well.

Again, this is rather short, but the banter is charming. You don't need to update every day. This is your story, and your story and your imagination is important. Take your time, do what you want, imagine your story and write it down with care. A little more patience can only do wonders ;)

This chapter seems to be a little short - I have still no idea what's happening. More attention to grammar, please - otherwise, I still like your gamble with the protagonist, as well as her reaction to her sorroundings.
