The Avenger and the Woman

It Wasn't A Date

"Master Stark Isabella is here, shall I send her up?"
"W-Why is she here?" Tony stuttered. "Uh, send her up." Within a few seconds of him saying that the elevator doors dinged open and a beautiful woman walked through. Her shapely body concealed in a black dress, her long legs ended in candy red pumps, her upper body covered in a black blazer. Her long dark brown hair was pulled in a bun on top of her head. She had dark brown eyes that were reminiscent of Tony's. A pair of Ray-Bans were on top of her head, she had no doubt got her Hot-Rod Red 60's Mustang out of the carport in her Manhattan townhouse. She ran up to Tony and hugged him excitedly "Tony!" The exuberant 25-year-old said. "Isa, what brings you to my neck of the woods?"
"What do you mean? Didn't Pepper tell you I was coming?"
"Yes I did, twice last week."
"I don't remember any of that." Tony said looking at the strawberry blond that was Virginia 'Pepper' Potts. "Well, I said I was staying for a couple weeks. I got bored with Malibu."
"Why don't you just stay at your townhouse?" Tony asked trying to get out of staying with his sister. "Because." She said shortly, he knew the argument was over but he decided to push her. "What if I don't want you staying here?" With that she glared at him and looked to Pepper "Which room will I be in?"

Steve glanced at Tony who was glaring at his food "Uh? You okay over there?"
"Perfectly fine." He snapped. It was oddly early in the morning for Tony to be up "Good morning Anthony." A woman's voice said. Steve glanced up and saw a woman standing there in a pair of shorts that barley covered modesty and a long shirt. Steve halfway expected Tony not to know her name. "Hello Isabella." Tony said through gritted teeth. She looked very similar to Tony, similar hair colour and eyes. "Whoa! Is that that dude dad use to talk about?!" She rushed up to Steve who felt really uncomfortable. She cautiously poked his cheek and then he spoke "Good morning ma'am." She jumped. "Oh god, that startled me." She laughed "I would prefer it if you wouldn't poke my guests' faces." She glanced at her back at Tony and commented "Oh bite me."
"Miss. Stark, would you like me to call Miss. Potts?" The girl identified as Isabella Stark commented "No that's fine JARVIS." Steve couldn't help but stare at this young woman, her dark hair was messy and unkempt. She had no doubt just woken up. "Hi, I'm Isabella. Your Steven Rogers, right?"
"Yes ma'am." He said shaking her hand. "Sorry I'm not dressed. I didn't know any-" She reached over and smacked Tony across the back of the head. "One else was staying here."
"Well if someone had told me before hand you were coming-!" Tony called.

"I told him twice last week." Pepper commented to Steve as she sat down across from him, the pair of siblings had gone to get dressed and attend to their own devices. "Pepper." A female voice whined from the stairs "I'm bored, and Tony won't hangout with me."
"Go out then, have fun around the city."
"But I'll get lonelyyy!" Isabella finally walked to the table where Steve, Clint, Bruce and Pepper where sitting. "I can take you out if you don't want to go around New York alone." Steve offered. "Really?" The young Stark asked, a bright hopeful look in her eyes. "Hope you don't mind motorcycles." Steve laughed. She grinned and said "That sounds fun." Steve's eyes roamed over her, she was wearing shorts like the ones she was wearing that morning; barely there. Her coral coloured button down tank top fell over most of the shorts, a pair of brown oxford shoes adorned her feet. She grinned and said "Thank you!" He glanced over quickly and asked "Are you ready to go?"
"Uh-huh." She nodded. He grabbed his leather jacket and started leading her to the garage.

The reached the landing, a new car was there. A cherry red old school Mustang convertible was parked in a space. "That yours?" She nodded and said "This beauty yours?" Gesturing to the motorcycle. "Sure is." He led her over to it and started the bike up. "Hop on." He said straddling the bike. She climbed on behind him "Wrap your arms around me." He commented he could feel the blush, that he didn't know was there, spread to his neck. He felt her skinny arms around his waist "Hold tight." He opened the garage door and revved the engine. The motorcycle leaped forward in a fast motion. They sped down the streets of New York "Where do you want to go?" He asked her over the noise. "You pick, show me whatever you want." She said. He sped off to a small place that was something like a diner from the fifties. They pulled into a parking place and he helped her off, she laughed and said "That was pretty awesome." She wasn't very much like Tony in a light like this, but he could tell they were very much alike in other ways. It was probably around noon, Steve helped her off the bike and said "These were the best burgers when I was a kid." She laughed and looked at him oddly.

They got a table and Isabella ordered a cup of coffee, she glanced at Steve again. His blue eyes just like the shade of the sky, he had fair blond hair that was slicked back. She couldn't help but feel like she was basically stripping him with her eyes. Then she though of how he would have been just a few years younger than her father. She blushed a bit and looked down at her coffee before putting some cream and sugar in it. "What was it like knowing my father?"
"Your father was a good man. Did you know him all that well?"
"Not really, he didn't have Tony and I in the house very often. We were sent to boarding schools and stuff." She didn't touch very often of the subject of her father. He lowered his head and said "Well I guess it all happens for a reason." She went quiet and drake her coffee. "I have to ask you a question."
"What would that be Cap?" She asked looking at him. "Do you and Tony not like each other?"
"No, we do like each other. We just went our separate ways when he took over Stark Industries. We were really close most of our childhoods."
"So what do you do for a living?"
"Me? I help Stark Industries from Malibu, but my main job is I'm a writer."

The day passed as they wandered around New York showing each other different things, Steve couldn't help but feel attracted to her, she was really quite sweet. He laughed quietly as she wandered around the shop they were in, he had expected her to tell him to take her somewhere expensive. She played with the sets of sunglasses making stupid faces, he rolled his eyes and said "Hey lets get back to the tower, the sun is going down." She paid for the sunglasses and asked him to tuck them in his shirt pocket. He put them away and led her back outside, the dark streets made him pull her close to him as they passed a few alleys to get to the area where his bike was parked. He twisted their fingers together and then felt his cheeks heat up as she leaned on him. "Steve, I had a really nice time today. Thanks for running me around and hanging out." He smiled and said "Your welcome Isabella." She laughed quietly and then shivered. "You cold?"
"Nah!" She said unconvincingly. He slipped his jacket off and put if over her shoulders. "This is so cliche." She said looking at him.

"How was your date with my sister?" Tony asked watching Steve practice on the punching bag. "It wasn't a 'date' Tony. You didn't want to spend time with your only sister so I offered." He said looking over his shoulder at the inventor. Tony continued to watch him closely, he could see Captain America had a thing for his sister. "I'm only going to tell you this once Spangles, don't hurt her." Steve froze and then said "I have no intentions of harming her in any way. She needs someone who will be able to spend the time with her that she needs. I don't know if I can."
"Then don't lead her on like you are."
"I'm not!" Steve barked. Clint made his way into the room and looked at Tony "Isabella is looking for you." Tony took his leave from the two other men. The man made his way up the stairs to the living room with the bar and everything. Isabella was sat on the couch wearing Steve's jacket over her shoulders. "Tony! Guess what I did today?"
"Went on a date with dad's friend." She glared at him and said "When you put it like that it just sounds creepy." He shrugged and walked to the counter and poured himself a scotch. "No, it wasn't a date. He was being a gentlemen and spending time with me when my douche of a brother wouldn't."
