Nick Fury slouched in his black leather chair, tired and mentally exhausted from all that had just happened. The Avengers Initiative had proven to be a good idea. The six heroes — a man in an iron suit, a giant green monster, an ex-assassin, an archer, a demi-god, and a 90-year-old man with the body of a 23-year-old, had saved the world from complete and total destruction and the wrath of a lunatic. Their victory hadn't come easy, though. They had lost a some good people, people like Agent Phil Coulson. There were even times where they thought that they didn't stand much of a chance.

However, they had done it. They had beaten the odds and kicked some alien and demi-god ass. They were indeed the Earth's mightiest heroes. And for some reason... Nick felt that something would happen again. He didn't know what or who, but he had a gut feeling that it would be soon.

Perhaps... it was time to add something new to the team... or better yet, someone. Who, though? That was the biggest question.
