The Goddess is revealed

After the meeting was over, I drove Maddy back home. She looked so upset, but so sad. I let her in and as soon as she got into the house, she sat down on the couch, her head in her hands. “Maddy…” I asked her.

“This is what they were trying to tell me…” She said.

“What are you talking about Maddy?”

“War.”

Was all she said, I looked to her. I didn’t want Maddy in another war, I almost lost her in one, I wasn't about to lose her in another.

“Maddy…” I began, but she cut me off.

“No Clint!” She replied.

“What?”

“You want me to leave. You don’t want me in this war! In case you didn’t realise, I was already in one.” She argued.

“I almost lost you in that war Maddy, and I’m not planning on losing you in this one!”

“This isn’t your fight Clint! Goddamnit! This isn't your fight! You can’t simply go into a war with the Titans, and expect to win! They’re immortal! The weapons that you guys have down here, won’t do anything to them. It won’t leave even a scratch! You can’t do this! None of you can! I have to!”

She said, angrily, before she pulled her knees up, close to her chest, and she wrapped her arms around them, and she broke into sobs. I sat down beside her, and I wrapped my arm around her back.

Maddy’s Point of View

I felt Clint’s arm wrap around my back, and I let go of my knees, and I leaned my head against his chest.
“I can’t bear to lose you in another war, Mads…” I heard him say. I cuddled my head into his chest, and I said, “That’s the thing Clint, that was then, this is now. They would kill you to get a rise out me and the Gods, and that’s all they want. They want a world war. Between Olympus and Tartarus. That’s all they want. A good show. They know that you’re important to me, so they will find you, and torture you, to get to me. I can’t live through that. Please…” I said, pleadingly.

He looked down at me, and I sighed, “Please…”

He didn’t say anything, until a few moments after, “I’m not going to have you in a war, Maddy…”

I sat up in frustration, and I stormed away. I heard him stand up, and I could hear him follow me. I ran into my room, and I slammed the door, and I sank down behind it, my knees against my chest. A knock at the door, startled me.

“Maddy…” I heard Clint’s voice call.
“Go away…” I sobbed. There was silence, and I could just imagine the look on his face.

*A few hours later…I think…*

My legs were cramped, and I stood up. I hadn’t heard from Clint at all, so I opened the door, and I looked out. I smiled, I saw him sitting down, leaning against the wall, his eyes closed, his breathing slow, and repetitive. I went into my room, and I pulled the blanket off of my bed, and I pulled the blanket off of my bed, and I wrapped it around him. I sat down beside him, and I rested my head on his shoulder. I felt his arms wrap around me, and he held me closer...
