The Goddess is revealed
Nightmares...
**Clint’s Point of View**I was thinking about everything that had happened lately. Nothing was really happening, no Norse God trying to take over the world, and Maddy hadn’t left in the longest time. Things were pretty normal around here. Except for Maddy. She was acting a bit differently now, I guess she was just trying to get used to the fact that she was a Goddess. When people ask what my girlfriend does for a living, the first that would try to come out of my mouth was that she was a Goddess. But I couldn’t tell anyone. That’s right, my girlfriend is a Goddess, and I don’t like pissing her off, because I know that she can and probably will kick my ass. And I am not afraid to admit it.
It had been a long and quiet day, and Maddy fell asleep on the couch, so I carried her to her bed. I went down the hall, and went into my own room. I was just about to fall asleep, when I suddenly heard a scream. At first, I thought that I was hearing things. So I ignored the first scream. But then it came again. And it was coming from Maddy’s room! I bolted out of bed, ran down the hall, and I burst into Maddy’s room; expecting the worst. I saw her thrashing around in her bed, and I knew what was wrong.
I sat on her bed, and I said her name, gently. She opened her eyes, and she screamed. At first, I was confused on why she was screaming, but then I realized that it was pitch black, and I only looked like a pair of eyes, staring down at her. I reached over and turned her lamp on. “Shh….Shh…Maddy its okay….it’s okay…it’s just me, you were having a nightmare…” I said to her. I went to touch her cheek, but I yanked my hand back. Her skin was on fire! She sat upright, she was shaking uncontrollably. I looked closer at her face, and she had burn marks on her face! “Clint…..” She sobbed. “It’s okay. You’re okay, I think…” I said to her. “What do you mean?” She asked me. “Your skin is on fire, and you have burn marks on your face…What happened?” “I don’t know…” She said. I slowly went to touch her face, and I found that her skin was cooler now. Her eyes were red from crying, so I wiped the tears that were now streaming down her face. She lay back down, her breathing back to normal, and she stopped shaking. I stroked her red hair, moving them from her eyes.
“Sorry……” She mumbled. “Why are you sorry, Maddy?” I asked her, confused. “For waking you…” She said, guiltily. I smiled, even though she was having probably the worst nightmare in the entire world, she still felt bad for waking me. I stroked her cheek, which made her blush, and smile. “Maddy……I would rather have you safe, than get any sleep at all…” I said, truthfully. She gave me a grin, one of her famous cheeky grins. “Good night…” I said, giving her a kiss, I got up and turned to leave. I felt her grab my hand.
“Clint…” I turned back to face her. “Yeah?” “Stay……” She said, innocently. I smiled, as I slipped beside her. She turned to me, and kissed me, before she leant her head on my chest. I knew she felt comfortable with me. “I love you, Clint.” She said, sleepily. “I love you too…” Her breathing fell into a soft rhythm. Before I fell asleep, a thought strayed into my mind. What was going on with Maddy, what was the burn marks on her face? What wasn’t she telling me? I pushed those thoughts out of my mind, and I wrapped my arms around her, and I rested my head on hers, and fell asleep.
