Look back in Anger

Well that was insightful(!)

I didn't sleep during the night. Mostly due to sorting out my room and getting carried away reading. I assume since it's the only place they ever seem to be, I'll make my way down to the bar room place thing. It's not bad having a bar as a living room area. I see that the others have all congregated, looking not at all well rested.

"wow, you all look like crap." I I say as I announce my presence.
"didnt help with you making a come back and us having to be filled in." Natasha spat, glaring at me. I don't think she likes me much.
"most people usually say good morning." Steve groaned and held his head in his hands.
"or you rearranging your room at 4 in the morning. Dont you sleep?" stark asked.
"I don't require sleep to function, unlike you. I sleep for pleasure, not because I need to. The same with eating and drinking, I don't need to in order to survive, I do because I like to." I explain, come to think of it, it sounded as if Starks question was rhetorical.
"well, that was insightful. Glad we all know about the biology of Raven now." Clint sighed.
"anyway, what's all this going down with the bad guy?" he continued.
"you mean Trigon, my father." I corrected him.
"yeah but that wasn't the bit We was mostly concerned about. What's he up to? You were a bit vague last night." I expected that comment from Steve but he was too busy lying down on the couch sleeping. Turns out it was Banner.
"you'll fine out soon--" I began but was rather rudely cut off.
"like I said last night if you just tell us then we can help." Thor urged, giving me an encouraging look.
"you wouldn't be able to help even if I told you everything." I reasoned. It's true that's what to come is truly hopeless and useless trying to fight but I figure these guys might want to know.
"so why bother coming to us?" Stark asked, unimpressed.
"because if anyone stands a slither of a small chance, and I can't believe im saying this, it's you lot." I had to pause, I think I need to wash my mouth out after that.
"coming from the woman who hates every single of us, we're honoured." Banner sarcastically thanked me.
"not true." I defended, that got Steves attention as he woke up rather abruptly and stood to attention.
"I only mildly dislike Thor." I continued, smirking.
"FRIENDS!" Starfire burst into the room in such panic.I didn't even realise she wasn't here.
"oh great, she's still here." Stark muttered. Same.
"there is injustice happening!" she grabbed Steve and Banner, urging them to follow her.
"Jesus Christ, Star we don't fight petty criminals, we stop alien invasions and mass terror attacks. Let the police settle this one." Stark sighed, grabbing her shoulders trying to calm her. She flinched away.
"perhaps that is what you do but not I. Captain, please!" she looked to Steve who expression towards her could best be described as 'oh my fucking god Starfire, chill out you crazy bitch.'
"okay then. What is it?" he sighed, defeated.

"a group of three robbing a bank. Quick! We must hurry!" she rambled, pulling him away.

"okay, I'll go with you if it makes you happy. Jesus, but I need a quick word with Thor." he turned to the person in question.
"you got a second?" he asked and cocked his head towards the door. Thor nodded and followed him.
"just so you know, it's totally your fault she ended up joining." Stark said and pointed blame at me.
"me? What did I do?" I asked, my voice going a higher pitch than it had before and subsequently a small bolt of black energy smashed a cup of coffee on the table. The remaining Avengers looked at me accusingly.
"dude chill. I just got a little angry of being accused. I haven't meditated yet today." I explained, standing down.
"anyway, it was you who deli ed to join us and then she saw that as opportunity for her to step in." Stark explained.

"she's not that bad. I think she's quite sweet." Natasha argued.
"she's strange, certainly." Clint said, sipping his beverage.
"she's not human, you can tell too." Banner interjected.
"wow, what gave that away, the way she talks? The fact she shoots green bolts? The fact she can fly? I mean really, I'm amazed at how you managed to come to that conclusion Bruce." I sassed.
"there's no need to take the piss." Natasha said, giving me deadeye.
"way to stick up for your boyfriend." I muttered, she didn't like that I don't think as the glare she gave me confirmed. I stared back, defiantly. She wouldn't beat me.
"Okay, ladies. Hey I wonder what Steve and Thor are talking about." that was Clints half assed attempt to distract us and start a new conversation, only making it more awkward.
"ooh, speak of the devil." Stark cooed, I turned around to see Thor walking in the room and smiling at me. However doing this I ultimately lost my staring contest with Natasha. I looked at her, who was silently laughing and pointing at me.
"what's up with Cap?" Bruce asked as he walked by. Thor did not resume his previous seat but sat to my left. Great, Stark on one side, him on the other, trapped between two lower order beings.
"oh nothing." he brushed off.
"took him and awful long time to say nothing." Clint sassed.
"It was nothing important. Hes just off with Star now. Hey, what happened to my coffee!" he pointed to the broken cup and spilled liquid.
"Little miss Raven over there had an accident." Natasha glared at me yet again, is that all she can do?
"you'll have an accident if you're not careful." I muttered under my breath.
"okay guys I think we should call breakfast over before anyone starts a fight." stark announced, coaxing his head towards the lab, sparking Banners interest and ending breakfast.
