Anna’s Point of View
Peter and I are sitting on the couch, when Brenda walks in.
"Hey, Peter aren't you supposed to be with the girls?” she asks
"Aunt May took them to the New York Zoo. They will be back by dinner." He told her,
"Hey Anna. I just want to thank you for sticking up for me back there. You will make a good sister in law.” She said suddenly. Wait how did she know? I thought the only people who knew were- I looked over at him. He was blushing slightly and wasn’t meeting my eyes. "Peter is terrible at hiding things from people. He eventually told me that you guys were engaged. Congrats.” She says. I punched him lightly in the arm.
"Ow, would you stop doing that to people.” He whines, but I laugh and kiss him.
I would be happy to break the news to Clint and Barney. Save Peter from a stare down from your Big Brothers." She offers, at first I think it’s weird. Why would I want her to tell my big brothers that I’m engaged? But in the end I say
"Thanks, that would be great." She smiles and runs off, looking exactly like a sixteen-year-old in the moment. After she left we sat in an awkward silence. I mean, I guess we were waiting for the inevitable to happen. Which it did, and I had a horrible Pocahontas moment.
When Clint and Barney stormed into the room, I squeak and launched myself into Peter’s lap. Like I was a cat or something.
"Anna all I want to do is talk to Peter." Clint said.
"It's ok Anna." Peter said kissing my forehead
"Peter, if you hurt her, I swear I will hurt you." Clint warned, as he struggled to smile.
"You won't be the only one, Clint. I will have my go at 'im to." Barney said, sounding more British than Southern. This was so embarrassing.
"You will not Hurt him. Peter won't hurt Anna because I see how he treats her. He treats her with respect. He loves her. And I'm happy for him." Brenda snapped, Peter pushed me off and gave Brenda a hug.
Well that was just fantabulous.
