The D in Apartment 23

Little Guy

"As soon as we get in you walk straight into the bathroom, don't stop and talk or look at anyone. Got it?" Harry told him, pushing her key in the lock turning it when she saw him nod and put his head down. The room full of heroes fell silent when they heard talking from the other side of the door, their heads snapping to the direction when the door opened revealing Bucky with two bags of shopping, Harry and another person with their head down and hood up who quickly walked in the direction of the bathroom. "Sorry about this, but, excuse me." She smiled politely rushing towards the bathroom and closing the door. They all looked over at Bucky with questioning glances as he just shrugged, clueless as them. The room had remained silent all eyes trained towards the bathroom waiting for any hint as to who the stranger was.
"Was that Tony Stark?" The young excited voice came out, Tony looking round with a smirk.
"I thought I told you not to look at anyone?" Harry's annoyed voice came out as she soaked the swap in the alcohol.
"You know that's not fair. Tell someone not to do it and they'll do it. Besides you know my senses are dialled to eleven. So is he Tony Stark?" His still excited voice filled the room again earning him a loud sssh from Harry.
"I swear to god Peter, I'm about to ring her if you don't shut your cake hole." She told him dabbing the deeper cut harder than necessary causing him to hiss out. They'd been in there for about fifteen minutes when Tony decided he'd had enough and knocked on the door, poking his head round it when he opened it slightly. He saw Harry knelt down to be level with the blooded cut on the kids back that she was stitching up, the kid sat still and unfazed by the procedure she was carrying out on him was taping his hands on the wall impatiently.
"Sorry to interrupt, just wanted to see what you were doing." Tony's voice came out as he walked further into the room, he noticed Harry look at the kid through the mirror on the cabinet door that was opened for easy access to her supplies. Taking a seat on the edge of the tub he watched the scene in front of him with a smile. "You got an eye for detail kid, your eyes hardly left the floor but yet you still knew who I were." He commented looking through the cabinet to see medical supplies stacked up neatly.
"I've got good eyesight sir." The kid spoke out politely, noticing Harry speeding up to get the job finished before he could say anything else to the genius.
"What you do kid?" Tony asked in a distracted voice.
"I'm in highschool sir." The response was short, Tony let out a hum deciding to test out his theory by knocking a bottle off the shelf looking down to watch the kid catch it, his reflexes unbelievably quick. By now it had become like a second nature to Peter, he'd been learning to curb it in public but whenever he were around Harry he knew he didn't have to. She knew his secret.
"Must be hell of a football player kid. What you really do?" Tony asked turning his head to smirk at the kid who looked like he was caught between a rock and hard place. He looked over at the doctor who had finished and was washing her hands in the basin; she shrugged over at him letting him decide for a change. "You're him aren't you? You're" Tony started to say but got cut off by the kid.
"I'm Peter Parker." Peter shook his head at Tony unconvincingly, who had a smirk still on his face.
"I see." Tony smirked standing up and walking over to the door. "Steve and Sam have made breakfast." He informed them both before slipping out of the room, Peter letting out a deep breath he'd been holding in.
"I played it cool right?" He asked over at Harry who shook her head at him and walking out of the room leaving him to follow.

They all sat around the front room tucking into the pancakes that Sam had taught Steve to make. Peter could barely contain his excitement being surrounded by the heroes so when Steve asked him his age and what he did at school it wasn't surprising the teenager tripped over his own words. "15 sir. I'm good at science and photography I guess." He smiled nervously before shovelling in forkful of pancake into his mouth.
"Science huh? You should stop by Stark towers sometime, we'll be sure to give you a tour. Right Bruce?" Tony asked looking over at the doctor who shrugged nodding.
"Thanks sir that's so nice of you." Peter smiled at the both.
"Do you not have a class to get to Peter?" Harry asked looking over at him watching as he shook his head no.
"No just homework." He informed her returning her look and realising it wasn't the answer she wanted. "That I left at home. Thanks for the pancakes." He put his plate on the table hurriedly causing the knife and fork to clash together as Harry bit her lip. "Thanks for stitching me up Harry." He looked over at her with his shy smile walking towards the door followed by the older female.
"Your welcome." She told him opening the door for him, he quickly waved to the others in the room before exiting the apartment. "Peter, keep out of trouble." She shouted down the corridor to him with a small smile as he shook his head to her disappearing around the corner. Once she'd closed the door she made her way into the kitchen pouring herself a fresh mug of coffee, taking her time.
"He seems a good kid. Is he family?" Steve asked genuinely interested in the nervous teenager that had just left. Harry laughed as she shook her head no.
"No, I know his aunt. He gets into a lot of fights and instead of going home or to the emergency room he drops by so that I can stitch him up so his aunt doesn't worry." She smiled. "He's a good kid. Been through a lot." She added, feeling a strong sense of protection to the guy who literally flung himself into her life. "Suppose I see him like a brother or something. He's sure as hell is annoying like one."
"He doesn't seem the kind of kid to fight?" Sam asked.
"He stands up for the little guy. Does what he thinks is right. Sometimes he forgets he is the little guy." Harry shrugged with a smile, a smile that they all could tell she was proud of him.
