The End is Where We Begin

If I Could Just See It All

Jessie

I fall back onto the padded floor with a thud. A groan escapes my lips as Agent Barton stands over me; bow aimed at my chest and a victorious smirk dancing on his lips. “You like it on your back don’t you?” He ask, smirk still on his face.

A smirk appears on my lips as I bring my legs up around his waist and bring him to the ground; rolling on top of him. I grab the gun from my holster and aim it between his eyes. “No, I like being on top.” I say, a smirk of my own playing on my lips. Behind us there is a round of clapping. I turn around and see Natasha standing there happily clapping with a smirk on her lips.

“You’re a fast learner.” She notes as I climb off of Barton. “How old are you anyway?”

“19.” I reply. “Learning has always came easily for me. I even graduated early; I come from a long line of geniuses.”

“Why didn’t you go to college and get a degree or something? Why become a criminal?” Natasha asks.

“Kind of personal, don’t you think?” I question her. “That’s something I don’t even tell my long term acquaintances.”

“You know if we wanted to; we can just look up your file.” Barton reminds me.

“But you won’t.” I point out, earning questioning looks from the two agents. “You want to gain my trust so you won’t read my file. You want me to feel comfortable enough to open up to you. I’m a criminal, not stupid.” I explain. “Now are we done here? Supernatural is on tonight and I’d hate to miss that.”

“Yea, leave.” Barton says. “You’re done for the evening anyway.” I nod my head before walking away; before they can change their mind.

“She’s hiding something.” I tell my partner once the new agent is out of the room.

“Aren’t we all?” Natasha chuckles.

“Have you warmed up to this girl already?” I question her. “You never warm up to someone quickly. It took you months to trust me.”

“You were sent out to kill me.” She points out. “This girl was in the wrong place at the right time. She’s as malicious as a box full of kittens.” I just roll my eyes as Natasha lets out a rare chuckle. “You need to relax. This girl isn’t trouble. You might actually end up liking her…” Once again I roll my eyes before my partner walks away. There is something about this girl; I just can’t put my finger on it…

I love kittens.
Nice start. I look forward to reading more.
Thoroughly enjoyed. "You like it on your back, don't you?" I would if it was him asking ;)
