Next morning
Tony woke up to crying "Jarvis!" he called out "Her food is ready and your coffee is as well sir," Tony got up and grunted something the crying stopped. He heard giggling then he felt little hands running through his beard. "You are cute too bad you aren't stay," he said to the girl it didn't bother her. Tony sat down at the kitchen counter there was a bowl of mashed up berries from last night. The girl was giggling she kept playing with Tony's beard he took a sip of his coffee. "Sir I think you should feed her," Jarvis said Tony closed his eyes and sighed. "Fine," he said the spoon was next to the bowl. He picked it up got a little bit of the berries mush in the spoon. "Hey kid say ahhh," Tony said the girl looked at him she giggled but she opened her mouth and took the food.
Tony kept on doing this till she refused to eat anymore shows that she was full. "Jarvis call child services," "Yes sir," after the girl was done eating Tony wiped her face. "Sir Mrs. Potts is here," "Great bring her in she can baby sit," "Also sir I got child services on the phone do you wish I patched them through?" "Yes," Tony said the girl was playing with his beard again. Tony heard the sound of heels hitting the tile floor "Hey Pepper! Mind taking this," Tony poked to the girl "Off my hands?" Pepper was in shock. "One of your one nights come to haunt you?" Pepper said the girl looked at Pepper and smiled. "She is quite cute," Pepper said she smiled at those brown eyes that looked like little pools of chocolate. She had little tuffs of dark brown hair she out stretched her arms toward Pepper. Telling her she want to be held by her Pepper smiled and took the girl. She snuggled close to her "Aw well aren't you the cutest! What's her name?" Pepper asked holding the girl. "Nothing I am giving her to child services," "Sir child services is on hold," "Patch them through," Tony said.
"Hello this is child services," "Hey this is Tony Stark. I called to say I have an orphan girl here," Tony said he looked Pepper playing with the girl. "Do you want us to pick her up?" "Yes," "Name of the child?" "Maira," Tony said he liked that named for a girl. "Middle name?" he thought for a moment "Heidi," Pepper looked over at him. "How old?" "She might be nine months," Tony said "Okay thank you Mr. Stark we will pick her up in five days," "Five days?!" Tony said it startled Maria. "Tony!" Maria began to cry Pepper sent a glare at him. Pepper was bouncing her up and down trying to get her to sleep it's working. "I am sorry Mr. Stark but we do not have the funding or man power to get all the children that need help. Saturday is the only day I have a person to go out to get her." Tony sighed. "Alright whatever bye," Jarvis hung up "Pepper," Tony looked over at Pepper. She was standing by the window rocking her.
"Yes?" "Mind going to get her a weeks worth of supplies?" Pepper smiled. She ran to Tony gave Maria to Tony "Lay her in your bed make sure she doesn't fall," Pepper said. Tony nodded after Pepper left he took Maria to his bed room. Then did what Pepper told him to do "Jarvis tell me when she wakes up," Tony said.
Tony was in his lab working on a new weapon for the government. It has only been an hour "Sir it seems miss Maria is awake," "Get her back to sleep," "I can't sir because it seems she knows how to crawl an it seem she is trying to-" Tony stopped what he is doing ran up stairs. He ran as fast as he could to his room she was about to fall. He caught her she let out a squeal of delight seeing Tony, Maria giggled she was playing with his beard. Tony took her down to the lab he knew he couldn't get attached to her. He placed her on the floor "Hey you DUM-E watch her," Tony said. DUM-E rolled over to the girl Maria looked up at the robot arm. "Gah!" she said the two began to play by play Maria was crawling around the lab/garage. She was exploring the cars caught her eyes she looked over at them.
She was in front of Tony's Audi "Gah!" she said she was touching the tire of the car. Tony looked over and glanced at her she was talking baby talk she was looking at the car. "Jarvis play my music," Tony said soon AC/DC back in black started playing. Maria listen to the music she made no complain she liked it Tony saw this.
All afternoon Tony and Maria where in the lab listening to music. Maria was on the lab table watching Tony work Maria began to fuss. "Sir she is hungry an Ms. Pots is here," "Great. Alright kid lets see what aunt Pepper bought for food," "Rar," she said as she clung to Tony. If Tony only saw that he was getting attached to the girl an Maria was already attached to him.
