We´re going nowhere

Prologue

Pictures, blurred, sometimes in rainbow colours flashed before my eyes. As they sharpened I recognized faces. There was my father’s face looking angry and ashamed, my brother looking shocked and helpless … and there were other faces too but I could not quite sort them... Next to me I heard someone moan and my eyes opened in sudden realization. With a massive headache and my eyes hurting from the bright light I turned over to my brother “Mativ?” I croaked. “Is everything alright?” He opened his eyes and moaned again. “This is even worse than having a hangover. Why did they have to be so brutal? I mean they could have been a little bit more gentle. God that sounds wrong in every single way…”He giggled. “Well the first time can be a bit hard, especially if you do not manage to land on your feet...” I stood up and looked around “It is fucking cold here, like what, minus 10? Could have banned us to a warm place... Where are we?” “Shh!” I interrupted his complainants because I´ve heard footsteps and people talking. “We better go, now!” I whispered. I pulled him up and we both started to run away from the circular imprint towards the woods.
Dogs were chasing us followed by men in uniforms, commanding us to stop. They looked surprised as the dogs stopped right behind our feet and turned around to chase their owners instead. “Good idea! That will keep them busy” Mativ called “Well only for the next hundred meters .After that I will not be able to reach them anymore. But I can repeat this game as often as I wish.” I replied with a smile. Snow started to fall and left the earth covered in a white blanket. The wind sharpened up and blew away our footsteps, but of course only right behind us. Trees fell randomly and blocked the way for the soldiers or hit them, but I did not feel sorry. We were laughing at their weakness and too perky to notice that other soldiers, dressed in black and wearing big clunky helmets, closed on from behind. The next moment Mativ fell because he was hit by a bullet in the leg. I stopped and stood there looking at my brother and the soldiers which were coming closer. “Lyis just go! Run! Come on…go! I can handle them. They are just humans, aren’t they?” But I was already running back, standing before him to protect him from these people. “To tell father that I have left you behind? That I was a coward? You can bet your ass that I´m staying” I remember that I was sending objects towards them like rocks or trees or even commanding animals to attack them. This tactic was working quite well with the normal soldiers, but the black ones had special armory which shoot blue beams towards us. I build snow walls to protect us from them, but it wasn´t useful. Not at all. I started to panic and had to commit that they were not as harmless as we thought. Once they hit a normal soldier by accident and he was ... evaporated. He was running towards us, planning to attack me from close and the next second he was gone. At that point I decided to give up, because I was afraid the same could´ve happened to Mativ. We didn´t had much snow left to protect us, so I raised my arms, lay them behind my head and went to my knees. “I´m sorry Mativ” I said. “Do not worry sister, I would´ve done the same. Their weapons… we may have underista-“But he wasn´t able to finish his sentence because both Mativ and I were pushed to the ground and handcuffed. Suddenly everything turned black. They had knocked me unconscious.
