We´re going nowhere

Chapter 3: "Soldiers Poem"

Pain. The only thing I felt was pain. My whole body ached while I rolled over to my stomach. My rips punctured my lungs and I was not able to control my left leg or arm without screaming in agony. A steady beat bounced in my head as though it wanted to let it explode. I moaned as I tried to swallow and instead a flood of blood came splashing out of my mouth. So I tried to lay still, to make no move while I thought about my situation.
I was still alive.
My body was broken and crushed but there I was wondering why I did survive.
I opened my eyes slowly and waited for them to get into focus. The sun shone bright and the snow around me was glittering. Again I moaned but forced my eyes to stay open. Directly underneath me the snow was drenched in blood. In front of me was a tree line and on the left and right side the mountain hill. All the time I heard a soft ringing noise in my ear and every other sound seemed muffled.
I had neither heard nor seen them coming.
Suddenly arms grabed my shoulders and turned me around. I had almost fell unconcious because of the pain that flashed through my body. I gave of a soft whimer.
“God, she´s still alive! John god damit throw that fucking cigarette away!”
My eyes focused on a face right in front of me. He was a commonly looking man, almost plain. He gestured towards another man who looked much more frightening. He had a hugh scar across his cheek and lips. Both were soldiers, from America judging by their clothing and language.
“What are you doing? Stop touching her! Her body is completely ruined. Get out off my way…!”
The second soldier pushed the other one away . Only then I saw the bandage around his arm: he was a medic. I felt hope and tried to take my chance.
“Help me….” I whispered.
The other soldier had started to panic and was screaming for help.
“Edward shut your fucking mouth! Stop whining! I can hardly understand her. Well of course we´re going to help you. That´s our job. We will fix you again I promise.” His voice was full of confidence but I saw the doubt written all over his face. Apart from his scar he was good looking and seemed friendly. But you could feel that he had seen and did things which were hunting him at night.
“No. Please don´t . Just kill me… please.” Every single word made my head explode.
The sudden silence lasted several seconds. They both looked at each other.
“Your gun, please just do it. You have killed so many already, just give me …mercy.”
“We can´t, we have orders to-”
“What? Rescue me? They think I am dead. You don´t need to tell, just please. They would not mind.”
Again they silenced. They clearly struggeled with my request. As soldiers they were oblidged to follow orders and I was putting them in a quandary. But after all the things they had done, these soldiers surely had the need to do something good: to have mercy.
But the moment had past. In the end their training would always get the better of their pity.
Suddenly a vehicle came crashing through the trees and I saw at least a dozen men had arrived in front of us.
"We heard you screaming from 5 miles away Smith.I´m not sure if I have to be glad or ashamed." A man yelled from atop of the car.He was clearly the man in command.
“No, no no no , NO!” I startet to scream and tried to rob away from them, but I stood no chance, the pain was unbearable.
“Get her, and put her in the truck. Try to be gentle! Carter surely wants her alive."
My mind was completly empty, I could not think. Again I heard that soft ringing noise which became louder and louder. It was although I was trapped inside this body , inside my own self and I would never escape but was slowly drowned in there.
A black haired man was coming towards me and pushed me to the ground and though he did it very delicated it still made me scream in pain.
“I´m Mr. Stark. We´re trying to be gentle but it will hurt a lot. Just try to lay still and don´t fight us. Hopefully you´ll fall unconcious so you don´t have to feel much of the trip. Unfortunatly I don´t have any morpheme with me, I thought I would meet a corpse…”
Other soldiers came, picked me up and brought me carefully towards the truck.
I felt unconcious before I reached it.
