Savior- A Tony Stark/ Ironman Love story

Now isn't the time to be brave

The night of the Hospital’s Black and White Masquerade ball, Mack looked herself over on the mirror, she had ½ hour before Tony was to arrive to pick her up and she wanted to look her best for him. As she looked that the dress she was wearing, she thought that her friend and favorite designer Marco had out done himself. When Mack called Marco to ask him to design a dress for the ball, the man was more than happy to. She had told him that she wanted something special since Tony would at her side. The dress was floor length and strapless. The material was silk chiffon topped with black silk lace it was form fitting to her waist then slightly puffed out from her waist. Her brunette hair was swept up in to bun with tendrils of hair hanging loosely, framing her face. Her make up done tastefully not too much, not too little. The only thing she was missing was a necklace to complete the look. She looked on her dresser and found a necklace that would work perfect. It was a one that she received from her grandmother when she turned 16.

Before she realized it there was a knock on her door. Tony had arrived. Mack took a minute to collect herself before opening the door to let him in.

When the door opened, Tony looked at Mack with approving eyes. She was simply breathtaking. “You look beautiful.” He said causing Mack to slightly blush.

“Thank you. Please come in.”

“The car is waiting downstairs, but I thought you should have this before you go. He said. Then he handed her a long velvet box. When she opened it, inside was diamond bracelet made with rare chocolate and white diamonds.

“Oh Tony, it’s gorgeous. But I can’t accept this.”

“Wear for tonight then.” Taking the bracelet from her and placing it on her wrist. Then he bent down and kissed her gently. “We should get going.” He said when he broke the kiss. Mack grabbed her clutch and they were out the door.

When Tony and Mack walked outside the building, unknown to them a black sedan was watching them.

“She looks beautiful tonight.” One of the occupants said.

“Yes. She does.” The other replied looking at the couple.

As the evening progressed, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, including Tony and Mack. They laughed, made conversation, danced, drank a little champagne, mingled with the other guests, Mack was able to introduce Tony to members of the hospital board and a few the staff she worked closest with so he could put faces with names when the two discussed her work. But the night changed when Tony and Mack where on the dance floor and shots rang out over head.

“Everyone stay where you are and no one will get hurt. As soon as we get what we came for then your evening will resume.” A loud male voice bellowed. The room silenced.

Tony instinctively pushed Mack behind him. “What do you what?” He yelled at the man.

“You, Mr. Stark.” The man said when his eyes met with Tony’s

“Why?” Tony asked.

“Because you have something we need.” The man simply said.

“And what would that be?” Tony asked.

“The Phoenix File. Mr. Stark” Mack’s eye went wide.

Tony smiled. “I think you have the wrong person. I haven’t a clue what you are talking about.”

“What do you want with the Phoenix File? It’s not even complete.” Tony heard Mack say stepping out from behind him.

“Mack what are you doing?” She heard Tony say to her. “Now isn’t a time for you to be brave.”

“He’s right. He doesn’t know anything about it. You want me.” She continued.

“Why do I want you?” The man asked.

“Because I know what it is and where it’s located.” She said.

“Grab her.” The man yelled

Just then the full alarm system in the full building went off, causing massive chaos. It was the distraction they needed. Tony grabbed Mack’s hand. “You can explain later, right now we need to get out of here. Come on.”

As soon as the two were outside, Tony heard a familiar female voice calling his name. “Stark!” He stopped to look to find a black sedan with a familiar redhead sitting at the wheel.

“There’s our ride. Run. They are right behind us.” Tony said pulling Mack toward the car.
They were halfway when Mack stopped suddenly as she saw a sandy blond haired man get out of the passenger side of the car. He made eye contact at her then took aim, putting her in his sight and winked at her before he shot. Mack ducked as two arrows skimmed over her and shot their intended targets behind her.

“Hey! Watch it! That’s my girlfriend you’re aiming at.” Mack heard Tony yell.

“Hurry up and get in the car, Stark. I’m getting tired of saving you already.” She heard the man joke.

“Come on babe, hurry.” Tony said grabbing Mack’s hand and pulling her to the car, shoving her inside. “Go, Go.” Tony yelled to the driver.

“A little dressed up for a rescue aren’t we?” The redhead joked as she stepped on the gas, getting the four of them away from the chaotic scene.
