Savior- A Tony Stark/ Ironman Love story

A bright stream of light woke Mack. She rubbed her face and stretched when she woke up. She looked around at her surroundings and realized she was alone but not her bedroom. Her scrubs were folded on a chair and her evening dress hung on a door. Her bag and phone sitting in the night stand. She looked down at what she was wearing and found herself to be in a man’s dress shirt, her bra and panties. Then last thing she remembered was getting into Tony’s car after seeing her patient.
“Crap.” She said as she reached for her phone to check the time.
It was 9:00 am the next morning. She had been asleep for 18 hours.

“Damn.” She got up and put her scrubs back on. She reached into her bag and pulled out the refresher bag she kept inside and when into the bathroom. It was something she started carrying when she was in medical school when she pulled long shifts at the hospital. It contained personal hygiene items such as deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. She was glad to have it.

As she walked out of the bedroom. She could hear two male voices talking fairly loudly. One she knew was Tony’s and he seemed to be arguing with the other. She wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and when she walked out of the hall, she stubbed her toe against a table. She yelped and caught the attention of both men.

“Babe, you’re finally awake.” Tony said with a smile and walked over to her, hugged her and planted a kiss on her forehead.

“I shouldn't have slept as long as I did.”

“You needed it.” He replied to her as he turned to back to his guest with is arm wrapped around her waist. “I want to introduce you to someone. This is…”

“Director Fury. “ She interrupted him, seething as she said his name.

“Kenzie?! This would be the last place I would have expected to find you.” Fury said with a slight surprise to his voice.

“Kenzie? You two know each other?” Tony asked with a bit of puzzlement to his voice. Neither one where really paying attention.

“You disappeared off the radar.” Fury said to Mack.

“Disappeared?” Tony asked with some concern.

“I simply did not want to be found. Nick” She said to the man with the patch over his eye.

“You sleeping with the enemy, you know that right?” Fury said to Mack nodding toward Tony.

“Enemy?” Tony said surprised.

“I guess that a mistake I have to live with.” Mack calmly said to Fury.

“Mistake?” Tony chimed.

“You know my offer still stands.” Fury said to her.

“Not today. I'll have to check my schedule.” Mack replied.

“Great. Just great. My girlfriend is acquainted with SHIELD too.” Tony said frustrated.

Both Fury and Mack started to laugh after seeing the look on Tony’ face.

She not acquainted with SHIELD, Tony. Fury finally said.

“Not at all, Nick is my Godfather.” She said letting him off the hook." I don't even know what SHIELD is."

Fury then said “I got to go. It was good seeing you again Kenzie.” He kissed her on the cheek.

“Stark, think about what I said. And be careful with her, she can be a feisty one.” He said shaking Tony’s hand. Then he was out the door. Fury saw a glimpse of the old Tony when Mack enter the room. He knew if anyone could save Tony from the path he was on, Mack would be the one.

Tony looked back at Mack. “Godfather?”

“Girlfriend?” Mack looked at Tony.

“You are a girl, well not actually a girl, more of a woman and a friend hence girlfriend." Both knew that's not what he originally met.

"Tony!" She said.

“You said it yourself Mack. I am very persistent... So he's your godfather? He asked.

"Yes, My father and Nick were best friends when in they were in the service together. Nick lost his eye saving my father's life." She explained.

"So that explains..." Tony twirled a finger around his eye.

"So that brings me to my next question? How did I get here?" She asked.

"By the time I got into the car, you were sound asleep and I couldn’t wake you, so I wasn’t able to get your address. The only thing I could think of was to bring you here. I brought you upstairs and put you to bed." He said.

"Okay genius, you didn't think to look for my driver's license?" Mack replied.

"Well, actually no." Tony said

"So who undressed me?" She asked.

"I did. I was the perfect gentleman, Mack. Scouts honor." He replied, holding up three fingers together.

"Tony, you are so incorrigible." She laughed. “Look, I have to get going.”

I'll have my driver give you a ride home then. But only if you will have dinner with me tonight."

"I really don't feel like going out tonight." Mack watched the smile on Tony's face fade. "But why don't you come over for while tonight. We watch a movie, order in pizza?"

"Even better." He said, his smile returning.

"7 ish OK?" She asked

"Perfect." He replied.
