Age Of Miracles

I watched as my goofball of a boyfriend went running around, house to house, holding a big bag of sweets in one hand, and in the other he had Barton's daughter hand. Pietro volunteered on taking Clint's children trick or treating, much to my displeasure. All I wanted to do was hang out at Tony's party and get shit faced drunk. But no, I'm here, late at night, in the cold, trying not to lose Clint's kids in fear of getting murdered by the assassin. Pietro looked happy though. He said that in Sokovia they didn’t do "Halloween" and how he wanted to take advantage of it. He had a grinned plastered on his face, the children laughing and over all they seemed to be having a great time. I closed my eyes and sigh in defeat, I was stuck trick or treating with them. As they finished the last house on the block I made my way to them, and linked hands with Cooper. "Are you guys ready to call it a night? Its starting to get even more cold outside, and im sure your mother will kill me if you two got sick because of us." I called out to the children who gave me pouts, including Pietro. "We haven't gotten enough candy yet! I want to share some with Nathaniel." Lila said softly making me giggle as I ruffled her hair. "Sweetie Nathaniel is too small to eat candy, okay how about this, one more block and that’s it." I said which made all three children cheer. I look at Pietro with a stern face and sigh. He dragged the kids onto the next block, while I followed behind them, sluggishly. Before they even got to the first house on the block, they abruptly stopped. I gave them a puzzled look as I made my way up to Pietro. "Is something wrong?" I asked. At first, all three gave me a sweet smile, before they gave me an evil grin. "Marie lets do this block together!!" Cooper shouted as he took my hand. I scrunched my nose up and slipped away from his grasp. "No thank you, I don’t even have a bag." I said, trying to find an excuse. Pietro then threw his bag of candy towards me, which I quickly caught. "You can borrow mine." I heard his thick accent, as he showed me his pearly whites. I once again sighed and turned my head the opposite way. It annoyed me how he could make me do what ever he pleases, all he had to do was convince me with his wonderful accent and grin and I turn into a high school girl again. I felt a blush creep onto my face, so I grab Cooper and drag him to the house, with Lila at our tail. As we stood in font of the door, I brought my hand up, formed as a fist, ready to knock on the door when I hear Connor scold me. "No no Marie we are suppose to say Trick or Treat!" I gave him an unamused look but nodded. "TRICK OR TREAT~" We all called out, them more enthusiastic. An older looking woman stepped out with a bowl full of candy. "Oh look at you, so cute~ " She cooed at them, throwing candy into there bags and they scurried off. "You're kids are adorable, You and your husband must be so happy" She mused and she gave me candy and nodded towards them. I turned around to see the kids and Pietro playing around, grins on all of their faces. I blushed and turned to the woman. "Thank you, have a nice night." I said softly and trotted back to them, face still burning from what the woman said. "Mom! Dad!" The kids yelled out as they ran to their parents, giving them a big hug. After the candy festivities, We all made our way to Avengers Tower to finally call it a night. "Thank you both, I hope they were no trouble." Laura said as she held Lila to her side. "Is no problem at all. We had fun yes?" Pietro grinned, nudging my side causing me to nod at Laura. "They behaved marvelously, it’s the other kid that was the problem." I giggled as I pointed at Pietro who also grinned. "Im sorry tonight was not fun for you" I heard some one say from behind me. I was on the balcony, leaning out, staring at the stars. I smile and give him a small laugh. "No, today was nice, it made me realize something." I said as he came from behind me, pulling me into his chest and wrapping his arms around my waist. "And what is that?" He asked, resting his chin on my shoulder. I turned around, wrapping my arms around his neck and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "You are going to be the greatest dad one day" I said making him turn red. He snuggled closer to me, feeling his smirk he whispered, "I hope that its soon."
