The New Hero
Chapter 9
Steve's Pov
After Brenda cooled down, she blacked out. We got her back to the tower, but she's been out for a week. Same as Anna. I've been going back and forth between her and the twins. The twins have been visiting her everyday. When I bring them in to see her, they smile and give her a hug. She hasn't been responsive to any of the tests that Bruce has run. Nat's condition is much worse than Brenda's. Before Bruce got Nat back to the tower, she lost a lot of blood. Her and Clint have the same blood type, so he gave Nat a pint of his blood in hopes of saving her. Tony keeps saying that it's his fault that Brenda did what she did, but it's really mine. I should have followed her to protect her if this happened. Peter and Clint are getting along for Anna's sake. Thor is no where to be found. Mack keeps going to visit Brenda in hopes that she will wake up for her. Jonny doesn't want to see Brenda while she is unresponsive. And Fury is set on stopping Hydra for doing what they did to Brenda, and Anna.
Brenda's Pov
I woke up to the sound of Mack's voice. I opened my eye's to see my girls, and Steve sitting with Mack.
"Where am I?" I said, my throat a little raw. I looked around and realized that I was back home. I shot straight up out of bed, and immediately ran to find Peter. I had to see him, to know that he was safe.
"Jarvis, where is Peter?" I asked.
"Visiting Miss. Anna. Her room is one door away." He replied. I went into the room and hugged Peter.
"Don't scare us like that again. I thought I lost you." He said while sobbing in my arms. I couldn't blame him because I was sobbing too.
"AHHHHHHHH!" Anna screamed. "Peter?" She said with a scratchy voice. Peter went up to her and started talking.
"Stay with me Anna, I'm going to get Bruce." And he left. Anna stayed awake a little longer before letting the darkness consume her. She was unresponsive again. After 1 minute, Clint walked in. His face was red and puffy. I thought he was here to see Anna, but he came up and gave me a hug instead.
"Did she wake up yet?" He asked me referring to Anna.
"She did, but then went unresponsive again. Peter went to get Bruce." I told him. I could tell that he was crying because he started sobbing again. "What's wrong, Clint?" I asked not sure that I wanted an answer.
"It's Natasha. She still isn't responsive." He said. All of a sudden we heard Anna scream in pain again.
"Anna, it's okay. Bruce will be here soon." He said, realizing that she was hurting.
"Clint, she's not screaming because she hurts. She's screaming because of Nat." I said as Anna started crying. Clint hugged her and told her that once Bruce clears her he will take her to see Nat. I could sense that Anna was angry. I know what follows her anger.
"Clint back away from Anna, now or you'll get 3rd degree burns." I told him. He just looked at me like 'What the fuck are you talking about?' I went up to him and pulled him away from Anna just 5 seconds before she burst into flames. He looked pissed after that.
