Morning Sunrise

I was sitting out front on the terrace of Stark Tower. I grew up here and will die here. It was 4:00 in the morning. I am always an early rise and my dad would rather me sleep in. The truth is I have always been fascinated with the morning Sunrise. Seeing the sun come up was something I used to do with my mom. She is in a better place now. She went back to our Lord and is now watching over me. I was lost in my thoughts when a voice from behind brought me back to reality.
"You know, Jade, The more time you spend living in the past, the more you will miss the future." It was my dad. He always kept a close eye on me, but does it more now that mom is gone. He would rather keep me close so he doesn't lose me.
"I'm not living in the past, dad. I just like to watch the sun rise. It makes it feel like mom is still with us." I said. He walked up next to me and watch the sunrise with me, like he has been doing every morning since the day of mom's funeral. He misses her just as much as I do. To be honest I think the entire team misses her just the same. Pepper probably more because her and my mom were the best of friends.
"How's Aunt Lucy?" I asked him. When mom died she came to stay with us to make it easier, but it just made things worse. She has the same attitude that my dad does when he is questioned about accuracy.
"Sir there is someone on the line for you." Jarvis said. Dad hates it when people call him so early in the morning. He walked off to take the call. It was a good 5 minutes until he came back. The look on his face told me that it was good news.
"What is it dad?" I asked. He came up and hugged me.
"Your mom would be so proud of you." He whispered in my ear. I didn't know what he was talking about. Then I remembered taking the ACT Test last week. I am only 16 and already done with high school. I graduated when I was in 7th grade. I have had a lot of free time on my hands, so I was always upgrading my dads tech, and suits.
"You scored high enough on your ACT that you don't have to go to college. If you decide to you would get a full on scholarship." He said. I was shocked. A full scholarship was huge. With that news I watched the horizon just as the sun was coming up.
