Ice to meet you
Into the fray
It was a normal morning, I was at home, enjoying my summer, decided "I'll get some Starbucks". I walked down there (as it was only a few blocks away). The sun was shining, yet I was still a little chilly. The place was not too busy, so I ordered a lemonade ice tea. I took my first sip and smiled, so cold yum. Then everything went downhill. I took a sniff of the air and it smelled like smoke, a fire! In the back of the Starbucks smoke leaked through the door. Then BOOM, the whole place was aflame, I focused all my energy and ice came out of my hands, the fire disappearing. I was panting, I saved people but...I was exhausted now. I didn't have much control yet, so using it for long periods of time tired me out,. People clapped and cheered, I didn't know what to think, I was scared to be honest. I walked home quickly after that, looking in all directions. When I got home, I was all over the news, "a hero". I felt weak, I collapsed on my red sofa, in shock. What if they came after me? Now that I had revealed myself, I could be in danger. I was too tired to move off of the sofa though, I just took deep breaths, and fell asleep.
I awoke several hours later, a bit disoriented, then there was a knock at my door. I froze, but got up. I slowly walked to the door of my apartment. I look through the peephole, and it's...Captain America! I quickly open the door, in shock. "Evening ma'am, may I come in?" I just nod, allowing him to enter into my living room. "How can I help you Captain? as if I didn't already know". He paused, looking me in the eyes, "After what happened today, Shield would like you to consider becoming a member, an Avenger". I was awestruck, an Avenger?! I blinked, unsure how to reply, "I-I don't know...." he nodded in understanding, but then looked at me with a concerned face. "Either way, you're going to have to come with me ma'am, I'm afraid you have no choice", I knew he wasn't alone. I couldn't run either, I wouldn't get very far, damnit. "I-"shots were then fired at my window, we ducked, but there were still shards of glass everywhere. I looked at my arm, a huge shard of glass caused my upper arm to bleed, it hurt like hell. I could feel my consciousness fading, I was very squeamish. The last thing I remember, is two muscular arms picking me up, and taking me somewhere.
