Goddess of Deception

*A Few Months Later*

Asgard is so beautiful. No stories I have heard have done it justice. Everything is golden. I have a room in the palace. Frigga walks in.

“I know this must be a lot for you to take in. How are you liking it?” Frigga asked

“I love it. It's beautiful. Everything I have ever wanted. It's just…” I said

“You miss your home,” Frigga said

That was not what I was thinking. I feel bad for plotting to take the throne when everyone has taken me in. Without question. Frigga and Odin treat me so well and Thor, well, he tries.

“A little,” I said, lying

“That’s alright my dear. You have every right to be. Midgard is a magical place.” Frigga said

“Yeah,” I said smiling

A servant walks in.

“Sorry my High Queen, but I was told to notify Runa when her armor is ready.” The servant said

“No need to apologize. How exciting, Your first set of armor. The first set of Valkyrie armor in thousands of years.” Frigga said as we walk out

“I still remember the first sets of armor Thor and Loki received. Oh, it's such a magical day.” Frigga said

I put the armor on. It's gorgeous. Silver and white armor with a blue cape. The royal colors. They bring me my swords. I look bad ass. I put the swords on my back. Thor walks in.

“Ah! Look at you. You look so much like your mother.” Thor said

“Thank you,” I said

“I talked to Sif, she agreed to train you. If you are to be a Valkyrie you should learn from the very best Asgardian fighter there is.” Thor said

“When does training start?” I asked

“Now!” Sif yelled before swiping my legs out from under me.

I spring up. She swings her staff at me. I bend backward out of the way. I stand back up. She does a stabbing motion. I dodge out the way. I grab the staff under my arm and turn and spin taking the spear from her. She takes out a knife and starts swinging. I block them. She does get one cut on my arm. I front kick her and move from the hallway to a room with more space. She picks up a sword and I grab mine from my back. We are swinging our swords. She blocks mine, I block hers. She slides her sword down mine and twists my arm disarming me of one of my swords. She grabs a vase and throws it at me I stumble backward and trip over a chair and fall. She kicks the other sword out of my hand and points her sword at my neck.

“You must always be aware of your surroundings,” Sif said

I smile

“So should you,” I said making my lighting rope.

I wrap the lighting rope around the leg of the nightstand and sling it at her. She backs up. I get up and kick off of the wall and wrap my legs around her neck and toss her on the ground. I grab her arm in an armbar. She taps out. We are a bit out of breath.

“So, you’ve had some training,” Sif said

“Some,” I said

Thor helps us both up.

“Looks like you finally have some competition,” Thor said to Sif

“Yes, well it's nice that we are not starting from zero. Your sword work could use some work, but your defensive techniques are really good.” Sif said

“Thanks, we don’t exactly use swords on Earth anymore,” I said

*Months Later*

Sif continues to train me. I have a teacher that teaches me about Asgard, rules and regulations and history. I am very intrigued by Loki. I read many books on him. We have huge dinners and drink lots of beer. We have servants and live in a palace. It's not anything like Earth. I find Thor.

“Hey, can I ask you a question?” I said

“Yes, Of course,” Thor said

“What could possibly cause Loki to do what he did?” I asked

“Loki was tormented by the temptations for power. He wanted power more than anything. And he is willing to do anything to get it. Including killing his own family.” Thor said

I pause. I don’t know if he’s saying this because he’s on to me or not. But how could he be on to me when I have put my plan into motion yet.

“I don’t know how anyone can turn on their own family. In the end, all we have is each other,” I said covering my tracks

“Greed will make you do many things you thought you were not capable of,” Thor said

“Will he ever return?” I asked

“That I do not know,” Thor said

*June 3, 2012*

“Odin, Thor, Runa. Hurry I must speak to you.” Frigga said

We enter the room Frigga is in.

“Loki…He’s alive.” Frigga said

“What? How?” Odin said

“Where is he? Where is my Brother?” Thor said

“I have been trying to communicate with him, but he ignored me. He was at the Sanctuary.” Frigga said

“No…,”Odin said

“Wait…What's the Sanctuary?” I asked

“The Sanctuary is where a man goes when he is all out of options. It's where a desperate man goes for power or for death.” Odin said

“He’s after the Tesseract,” Frigga said

“Where’s is the Tesseract?” Thor asked

“I don’t know,” Frigga said

“Earth,” I said

“Midgard?” Thor said

“Yes. During World War two Hydra had it. They used it as a power source for weapons. The last I heard of it, it was sitting at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean. Captain America paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the world from the power the Tesseract contained. We need to talk to Phil. He knows more than me. He can help us.” I said

“Father. You must get us to Earth to stop Loki before he causes even more chaos.” Thor said

“Yes. I will see what I can do.” Odin said walking away

“How are we going to get to Earth?” I asked Thor

“Father will find a way. He always does.” Thor said

We wait. A servant walks up to us.

“The All-Father is ready.” They said

We walk in. Frigga walks up to us.

“Please be careful,” Frigga said to us

“And bring your brother back,” Frigga said to Thor

Frigga hugs us

“I can only do this once. You will have to find the Tesseract to return home with Loki. It will be safer here than on Midgard anyways. If you fail to get the tesseract you will be stuck on Midgard.” Odin said

“I will not fail you father,” Thor said

Odin musters all the Odin force he can. Then in the blink of an eye, we are flying through the air.

“Shit,” I said

Thor grabs me and we land on a quin jet. Thor jumps into the quinjet and I see him fly out with Loki. Then I see Stark fly out after Thor, then someone else. I jump into the quinjet.

“Nat,” I said

“Runa?” Nat said

“Yeah, we kinda need to bring Loki back to Asgard because he kinda committed war crimes of the cosmos by trying to destroy an entire alien race, so…Yea I just wanted to tell you so you know what's going on.” I said

I start to walk out.

“Wait, don’t you need a parachute,” Nat said

“Not when I have these,” I said pulling out my swords

“Of course,” Nat said sarcastically

I jump out of the quinjet and drift to the mountain where Loki is. I stab into the mountain and cut through the rock. I pull my sword out and land next to Loki.

“Loki…,” I said

“I see the All-Father has accepted you as one of them, ahh, the swords of Buri. Odin must really like you.” Loki said looking at the sword

“I have him around my little finger,” I said

“It's all a front. You’re a half-breed. Its only time before they throw you out like they did me.” Loki said

I am silent. I might have to move faster with my plan.

“We’ll see about that,” I said

I look down to see Thor, Stark and what looks like Captain America fighting, but Captain America has been dead for 70 years. Then a blast and everything is quiet. They are standing in a circle. I have my swords out glowing with light and my hair is blowing in the wind standing on the mountain, looking over the fight.

“Hey, are we done with the dick measuring contest or what?” I said

Captain America looks up

“Is that an angel?” Captain America said

“No, worse” Stark said to Cap

"Agent," Stark said to me

“Stark,” I said

I jump down.

“So, what's the deal?” I said

“You can't take Loki. He is the only person who knows where the Tesseract is.” Stark said

“Maybe we should let S.H.I.E.L.D take him in for now. Or at least until we find the Tesseract.” I said

“Only if we accompany them,” Thor said

“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” I said

Nat picks us up in the Quinjet and we head to a helicarrier.
