Battle of New York
I follow Stark to the room where Phil died and Thor fell from the Helicarrier. Cap was behind me.
“Was he married?” Cap asked
“No…he uh…last I heard he was with a cellist, but the whole agent thing we don’t talk much about our personal lives.” I said
“I'm sorry. He seemed like a good man.” Cap said
“He was an idiot,” I said
“Why? For believing?” Cap said
“For taking on Loki alone. I told him to get out.” I said
“He was doing his job,” Cap said
“He was out of his league. He should have waited. He should have...” I said
“Sometimes there isn't a way out,” Cap said
“Right. How did that work for him?” Tony said
“Is this the first time you've lost a soldier?” Cap said
“We're not soldiers! I'm not marching to Fury's fife.” Tony said
“Neither am I,” Cap said
“He's got the same blood on his hands that Loki does, but right now we gotta put that behind us and get this done. Now Loki needs a power source if we can put together a list...” Cap said
“He made it personal,” Stark said
“That's not the point. Loki is…” I said
“That is the point. That's Loki's point. He hit us all right where we live. Why?” Stark said
“To tear us apart,” I said
“He had to conquer his greed, but he knows he has to take us out to win, right? That's what he wants. He wants to beat us, he wants to be seen doing it. He wants an audience.” Stark said
“Right. I caught his act in Stuttgart.” Cap said
“Yeah. That's just previews, this is...this is opening night. And Loki, he's a full-tail diva. He wants flowers, he wants parades, he wants a monument built to the skies with his name plastered…” Stark said
I look up. Loki is going to Stark Tower.
“Son of a bitch,” Stark said as we leave the room.
We leave and get ready to head to Stark Tower. Cap goes get Nat and Clint. We start walking to the Quinjet. We enter. There is a man already in there.
“You guys aren’t authorized to be in here.” The agent said
“Son, just don’t,” Cap said getting the guy off the quinjet.
As we leave for Stark Tower, Tony zooms past us in the suit. We are arriving at the city. I am in the back of the quinjet
“Uh…Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?” Clint said
I walk up to the front and look through the window. I see an army of aliens coming from a black hole in the sky.
“Holy shit…” I said
“Sometimes there are moments where I wish I were left on the ice. This is defiantly one of them.” Cap said
“Stark, we're heading northeast,” Nat said
“What, did you stop for drive-through? Swing up Park, I'm gonna lay them out for you.” Stark said
I can't believe that we are flying around New York City firing at aliens. We fly past Stark Tower and see Thor and Loki fighting.
“Got eyes on him,” Nat said
“Drop me off here,” I said
They start firing at Loki.
“Hey!” I yelled
I don’t want them to kill Loki or Thor. Loki points his staff at us and fires. Our quinjet is going down. Cap and I are holding on to the straps in the back flying around. The quinjet crashes. We run out.
“We need to get back up there,” I said pointing to the tower. We hear this crazy noise and look up. This giant flying worm creature comes out of the wormhole. It flies right above us.
“Fuck me,” I said
Cap gives me a disappointed look
“Sorry, forgot your old fashioned” I said
“Funny coming from someone who's 15 times older than me.” Cap
“Stark you seeing this?” Cap asked
“I'm seeing, still working on believing. Where's Banner? Has he shown up yet?” Stark said
“No,” I said
“Just keep me posted,” Stark said
We are trying to figure out a game plan. We are crouching behind a taxi.
“There are civilians down there,” Clint said
People are running to get to cover. Loki is on one of the alien spacecraft firing at the people.
“Loki,” I said
“Those people are fish in a barrel,” Cap said
A bunch of aliens start to surround us.
“You got this,” Cap asked
“Of course,” I said
“Cap it would be my genuine pleasure,” Clint said
Cap jumps down from the bridge to help the civilians and Clint is getting other civilians off the bus. Nat is shooting at the aliens and Clint is shooting his arrows.
“Just like Budapest all over again!” Nat said
“You and I remember Budapest very differently., Clint said
“Budapest didn't have me,” I said jumping over the taxi and slamming my electrified fist into the ground.
The ground breaks up and my lighting travels through the ground and electrocutes about 20 aliens. It bought us a couple seconds. I turn around my eyes and fist glowing blue and lightning is coursing through my body.
“Let's go kick some ass,” I said grabbing a sword from my back.
I make my lighting rope and wrap around the light pole and swing around and kick some aliens. I wrap my rope around an alien and wrap it around my leg and pull him towards me and sliced him in half. I cut a light pole with my sword and it falls on some of the aliens. They have three more charging at me I kick the side of a taxi and it starts flipping and crushes them. I turn around and Nat and Clint are fighting some aliens and Cap comes jumping in to help. There is an alien behind them I run and jump over a car and pull both of my swords out and chop his head off and land a front flip. I have both of my arm pointing straight out to my sides, kneeling on one knee. I get up and look back at Nat, Clint, and Cap.
“I think I'm in love,” Cap said
“That’s too bad,” I said looking up
Thor is flying in and lands.
“Runa, I thought you were dead,” Thor said
“I've got good reflexes,” I said
“How’s it like up there?” Cap asked
"The powers surrounding the cube is impenetrable," Thor said
“Thor is right, we gotta deal with these guys,” Stark said
“How do we do this?” Nat asked
“As a team,” Cap said
"I have unfinished business with Loki,” Thor said
“Yeah, get in line,” Clint said
“Save it. Loki's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need. Without him, these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he's gonna need us...” Cap said until we hear a motorcycle
Banner slowly rides up to us.
“So, this all seems horrible.” Banner said
“I've seen worse,” Nat said
“Sorry.” Banner said
“No, we could use a little worse,” Nat said
“Stark, we got him, Banner. just like you said.” Cap said
“Tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you.” Stark said flying through the air with a giant flying worm alien behind him.
“I…I don't see how that's a party,” I said
“Dr. Banner now might be a good time for you to get angry,” Cap said
“That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry.” Banner said before turning into the Hulk and punching this giant alien in the head.
The armor starts to fall off and Stark fires some missiles in it and it explodes. We are all standing in a circle watching each others back.
"Guys," I said looking up seeing, even more, aliens coming through the wormhole
"Call it, Captain," Stark said
“Wanna give me a lift?” Clint said
“Right. Better clench up, Legolas.” Stark said
“Thor and Runa, you've gotta try and bottleneck that portal, slow them down. You two have the lightning, light the bastards up.” Cap said
Thor grabs me and we fly up to the top of the Empire State building. I look down.
“Did I mention I'm afraid of heights,” I said
“It's alright. Together.” Thor said looking at me
“Yea,” I said
I grab my sword and we both point to the sky at the same time calling upon the lighting and point it towards the wormhole killing multiple aliens. We look down and see Hulk taking on a large worm alien by himself. Thor looks to me. He wants me to jump.
“Why the fuck not,” I said
We jump down and land next to the Hulk on this creatures back. I stab into its back with my sword and send an electric current through my sword into the creature. The creature starts to fall out of the sky. We ride the creature through a building. We crash into Grand Central Station. I am standing next to Thor. Hulk punches Thor and Thor flies into me and we both go flying across the room.
“Really!” I yell
We walk out and find Cap still in the street fighting.
“Looks like you could use some help,” I said
Cap looking beat up.
“yea,” Cap said
We start to fight but we are soon overpowered. We are greatly outnumbered. About 30 aliens jump on top of me.
“Runa!” Thor yelled
I feel a sharp pain in my side
“AGH!” I yelled as a burst of lightning comes from my body blowing the aliens off of me.
Thor sees that I'm alright. He takes care of the rest of the aliens and helps Cap up. I grab my side and see blood. I get up and walk over.
They both look and see the Blood.
“Runa are you alright?” Thor asked
“Yea. I'm fine.” I said grabbing my side
There was a lot of blood.
“You don’t look alright,” Cap said
“Neither do you,” I said
“true” Cap said
“Are we ready for another bout?” Thor said looking at both of us.
“What you're getting sleepy?” Cap said
I smile.
"I can close it! Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down!” Nat said
“Do it!” Cap said
“No, wait!” Tony said
“Stark, these things are still coming!” Cap said
"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it.” Tony said
“Stark, you know that's a one-way trip,” I said
We look up and see Stark flying the missile up into the wormhole. All of the aliens fall to the ground. Stark must have taken out the mothership. We are looking up waiting for Stark to come back through the wormhole. He doesn’t.
“Close it,” Cap said
Right at the last second he falls threw.
“Son of a gun” Cap said
He is free falling through the sky.
“He’s not slowing down,” Thor said about to fly up and catch him.
Instead, Hulk catches him and puts him on the ground. Thor flips him over and rips his face mask off. Cap checks for a heartbeat.
“Is he alive?” I asked
“I don’t know,” Cap said
We stand silent. Hulk lets out a roar. Tony jumps awake.
“Oh thank God,” I said
“What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me? Well, maybe except you” Tony said to me
“We won,” Cap said disbelieved
“Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. “ Stark said
“We're not finished yet,” Thor said looking to Stark tower
“And then shawarma after,” Tony said
We all make our way up to the tower. Thor grabs me and we land. Everyone is walking up to Loki who is on the ground. Loki looks to us.
“If its all the same to you, I’ll have that drink now,” Loki said
I walk up and clock him in the head. Loki is knocked out
“That’s for Phil,” I said
Everyone is looking at me.
“What? You all were just standing there looking at him. I had to knock him out he’s sneaky.” I said
I start to get dizzy. I grab my side.
“Runa?" Cap said
“I’m…I’m Fine…Just…” I said before everything turned white.
I jump awake. I am in the back of an ambulance. Cap is sitting on the edge of the ambulance.
“Where’s Loki and Thor,” I said getting up
I look down and I am just in my bra. I see a huge gash on my side with stitches.
“He’s ok. He is bringing Loki to S.H.I.E.L.D right now.” Cap said
“I'm ok,” I said to the EMS Worker.
Jump out of the ambulance.
“Agh,” I said grabbing my side
I put my undershirt on.
“Maybe you should take it easy,” Cap said
“Nah I'm good. I spent the last 1300 years taking it easy.” I said
Cap laughs. I grab the rest of my armor.
“The Tesseract?” I asked
“It's safe. With Stark.” Cap said
“You call that safe,” I said
“For now,” Cap said
We are walking down the street.
“Where is everyone else,” I asked
Cap points at the restaurant
“Of course,” I said
We walk in and the food comes out. About five minutes later Thor walks through the door.
“Runa, I'm glad you're alright. I'm sorry I couldn’t be there when you woke up. I had to make sure Loki was properly secured.” Thor said
“You made the right call,” I said
We eat some Shwarma. After this, we all head back to S.H.I.E.L.D. to keep an eye on Loki.
*May 5, 2012*
We all leave from S.H.I.E.L.D. Thor and I grab Loki. We each have an arm. We meet up with everyone else in City Park.
“So you're going back to Asgard,” Cap said
“Yep,” I said
“Do you know when you’ll be back,” Cap said
“No. The rainbow bridge is destroyed. The Tesseract is the only way to fix it. Why?” I said
“I don’t know…I just thought…maybe we could…get some coffee…or something.” Cap said
I giggle.
“I don’t drink coffee,” I said
“Oh…” Cap said
I've been alive for over 1300 years. I can tell when I guy is hitting on me and I can tell he’s not used to talking to women and it took a lot to ask me. He is a really nice guy and I feel bad for turning him down. But im not looking for a relationship on Earth. They always end bad. But I’ll throw him a bone.
“But I do like smoothies,” I said
“Yea Ok” Cap said smiling
“Runa” Thor said holding the Tesseract in a container.
I grab Loki by his arm then grab the other side of the container holding the tesseract and turn it. We are transported back to asguard.
