Chapter 5
"Mommy," Maria woke up she heard Pepper going 'ew' "Jarvis where is mommy!" Maria asked Maria feared being alone. She never like it 'Maria Pepper is down stairs,' Jarvis said but that wasn't enough she got up clutching her Caption America doll. She took off running to the 'Lab' or 'Garage' as she knew it. Maria couldn't go down the stairs without her Mommy helping her down so she stayed on top of the stairs "Mommy! Mommy!" she cried.
Lab
"Don't ever ask me to do something like that again," Pepper said she was shaking off the gunk from her hands. "So what do you want me to do with this," Pepper said she holding up the old arc reactor "Mommy! Mommy!" Pepper heard the frantic cries of her daughter Tony heard them too. Pepper and Tony ran to the stairs Pepper running at top speed thinking the worst.
Top of the stairs
Maria was crying "Mommy!" she said again this time she spotted her mommy Pepper scooped up her daughter and held her in her arm. "Mommy!" she said sniffling be held tight by Pepper Tony watched as the mother tried to sooth her daughter. "Mommy is here Maria," Pepper said Maria's crying stopped and turned into sniffling Tony watched Pepper leave with the crying girl he followed. Pepper sat down on the sofa with Maria she got her Caption America blanket wrapped around her and she was clutching her caption doll. Pepper was singing "Sleep, my child and peace attend thee, All through the night Guardian angels, God will send thee, All through the night
Soft, the drowsy hours are creeping Hill and vale, in slumber sleeping, I, my loving vigil keeping All through the night.
While the moon, her watch is keeping All through the night While the weary world is sleeping All through the night," she then went to humming. "Why was she crying?" Tony asked he walked over to her and sat on the sofa. "She is scared of waking up alone," she said she was rocking Maria now she was drifting back to sleep. Tony looked at the young girl she looked like him only smaller and well a girl. She was sleeping again in Pepper's arms "So who is the father?" Tony asked "That is none of your business," Pepper said resuming her work.
Napa California
Past
The Ramirez family was a small family they had a son named Skaar and they lived on a small farm. With their son Natia Ramirez was a young woman that had beauty and grace her good heart and good cooking made the love of the town. She moved here from Ukraine for a better life then she meant her beloved husband. Martin Ramirez was a great husband and father he loved his job being a farmer. He moved here to California with his family from Mexico he was raised in Napa all his life. He liked tending to his crops and animals town folk loved the family since Martin sells his fruits and vegetables at a very reasonable price. "Mama, Papa?" one night at the dinner table Skaar asked a question to his parents "I want a brother or sister!" Natia choked on her water Martin spit out his water. Skaar looked at both his parents "S-sweetheart that is a big wish," Natia said. Martin nodded "But Mark and Adrew have siblings! I wantone!" Skaar said pouting Natia and Martin looked at one another "We will think about it okay?" Natia said she patted her son's head Skaar smiled and continued eating. When bed time came Skaar was put to sleep and his parents got busy.
A week later Natia found out she was pregnant Skaar was happy along with his father somehow the small town of Bearrock was happy for the couple. Flowers, cakes, and food was sent to their home Natia was getting out all Skaar old things. Like the crib and stroller "Mama! Mama! What is it a boy or a girl?!" Skaar asked excitedly his mother kissed his forehead. "We will find out in nine months hun," she said.
Though they never found out two weeks into the pregnancy Natia had a miscarriage. Natia wasn't the same after the miscarriage she didn't leave the house for two weeks. Martin wasn't the same either he didn't know what to do his wife was depressed and he didn't know what to do to cheer her up. Skaar saw that his parents where both said his mother told him that his baby sister or brother wasn't going to come. Skaar was sad but he was more sad because his parents where sad. So one night when Martin and Natia tucked in their son and told him that they loved him deeply they left to their room to sleep. When Skaar was sure his parents where in their room he got out of bed an ran to his window. He looked up to the northern star "Hello Mr. Northern star my mama always tells me stories about you how you grant wishes. I'm Skaar and something sad happen to my family my baby brother or sister isn't coming no more. Mama and Papa are really said about it they try to be happy around me but I know they are sad. All I am asking is that they can be happy again," with that said Skaar when back to bed.
As the week went his family seem to be getting back to normal when bedtime came Skaar was tucked in kissed and was left alone. It was raining outside Skaar liked having his window open when it rained it soothed him. He was facing the window looking at the rain fall he was falling asleep little did he know that something special was going to happen to night.
It was 2 in the morning and Skaar woke up to crying he thought it was a dream but he heard the crying clear as day. It was raining heavily now he got out of bed and put on his superman slippers he got his BB gun and went to check out the crying. His inner voice told him to tell his parents but the brave part of him told him he can do it on his own. He passed his parents room and walked down the stairs as quietly as possible when he got down the stairs he walked over to the door with his BB gun raised and ready to shoot if necessary. He unlocked the door an stepped outside. He heard the whimpering Skaar was looking for the sorts. He walked over to the porch because that is where the sound whimpering was. He peeked over and saw a basket inside it was a baby! Skaar quickly dropped his gun and picked up the baby. It was heavy he was getting all but the basket with the baby was soaking wet. Skaar quickly got the baby inside. "Mama! Papa!" he yelled out he got the baby out the basket he was holding the baby in his arms to keep it warm. The baby was shivering "Mama! Papa!" he yelled this time. He heard his parents running down the stairs "What is it son!?" Martin asked. He had his shot gun out Natia had her metal bat Skaar looked at them with wide eyes "Skaar what do you have there?" his father asked him. "A found a baby outside the house! It's wet and shivering!" Skaar said still holding the baby Natia walked over to her son. "Can you hand the baby over please Skaar?" she asked him. Skaar nodded and he hand the baby over his mother.
Natia took the child and held the baby "Martin go get Doctor Anya!" Martin nodded he ran upstairs then run back down stairs then out the door. "Be careful Papa!" Skaar yelled out to him he ran back to his mother "Skaar sweetheart go up stairs and get me your old baby clothes and blankets lots of blankets!" she said. Skaar nodded and ran to get all the things his mother told him to bring.
Lab
