Visiting Maddy's Thoughts
We stayed for a while, and Tony asked me a bunch of questions. After he got a good idea of what my problem was, he got up, and he placed, what seemed to look like a headband on me. I gave him a questioning look. “I want you to visualize what you see in your nightmares and that headband will show us whatever you see, on the TV…” He said, gesturing over to a large flat screen. “You okay with this Maddy?” Clint asked me. I nodded. “I just want to know why this is all happening…” I said, he kissed me on the forehead, and he went to go stand beside Tony. I closed my eyes, and I thought back to my nightmare…
Inside Maddy's Head
I opened my eyes, and I found myself standing once again, on cold, marble floor. I knew know that I was that I was on Olympus. I was right when I saw the familiar fires all around me. Like before, I didn’t know what was going on, until I saw the statues of the Gods and Goddess’ being smashed into a thousand shards, and burned, once again. I tried to walk, but with every step that I took, my feet were on fire. Even though, I could control the elements, I couldn’t seem to control this fire. It meant that this fire wasn’t of Olympus or of Earth. It meant that this fire was from only one place. Tartarus. The most feared place in all of Greek history. It was where the Titans where locked up in. How did they get out? For only a God can release them…. As I was thinking about this. I saw a face, which was fresh in my memory. It was the scariest thing that I had ever seen. And it was coming straight at me, and I screamed, I tried to run, but my feet were stuck to the floor. As it kept coming towards me, one thought ran through my mind. Why am I seeing Olympus destroyed? Oh no! The only thing this could mean that…... I couldn’t even finish my thought because; I saw a fiery face before me. I tried to scream but I couldn’t seem to find my voice to scream. I started to shake, and I began to sweat. I was trying to figure out who or what was in front of me, it was on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn’t figure it out.
“Ah……the new Goddess…” It spit out at me. Ash burnt my face, but I couldn’t find my voice to scream in pain, so I tried to keep my facial expression, emotionless. “I am sure that you have heard of me, perhaps that myself and 23 other people…like me, were banished to somewhere, basically a place under Hell…” my thoughts flashed to a fiery place. “Ah…yes. You do know the place. Tartarus. You have been there before…” I wasn’t entirely sure on what he meant. “Yes, I am the one that you fear…the one that every God and Goddess fears. I am the one that you, especially fear. I am Cronus…someone has awakened me, and you know this person. I am coming. We are coming. For you…” It hissed at me, more ash burnt my face. He laughed, that was the last thing I could remember, before darkness engulfed me, and flames wrapped themselves around me…
**Clint’s Point of View* Tony and I were watching the screen, and we saw Maddy in a white and blue toga. She looked beautiful. Then we saw I fiery figure come up to her. It began talking to her in Greek, and from her thoughts, you could tell that she was afraid. I turned around, to see Maddy scrunching her face up in fear. She began shaking her head; I saw some burns starting to appear on her face. That thing that she was thinking about was actually hurting her! “Tony!...” I said, hitting Tony’s shoulder. He turned around and he saw Madison. “Get that thing off her, and try to wake her up!” He ordered. I tore the headband off her, and she slumped onto my chest, unconscious.
“Wake up, Maddy!...” I pleaded. Pepper sat across from me, shaking her shoulder. “Come on, I almost lost you once, I am not planning on losing you again…” I said to her. She suddenly went still. I thought the worst; I hugged her tighter to my chest. Just then, her green eyes opened. “Clint……” She said, weakly. I kissed her forehead, and Pepper gave a sigh of relief. Maddy leant her head against my chest, and she cried silently. I rested my head on top of hers, and held her there. Now I knew what was bothering her. That thing that was in her nightmare.
Whatever it was, it didn’t seem too friendly…
