Archaic Kinds Of Fun

Summary

According to Merriam-Webster, the word hero has many definitions but only one that counts.

A hero is someone who is admired for their brave and courageous acts.

Jo Holbrook isn't anybody's hero. She's just another mutant living amongst civilians, until she gets a call giving her a job to do. She might not be a hero, but she can't turn a corner in her own house without bumping into one.

[The characters are listed by order of appearance, so more characters will be added as the story goes along.This story occurs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so the only characters that will be listed are the ones that have not appeared in the MCU. Or if it's an OC, but there's only two of those so far and one is a chicken.

If you are looking for a quick story about romance, this story isn't for you. There is romance, but the story is more about a team of remarkable people becoming a family. It is going to be long and messy. If you're looking for a story that bounces back and forth between hilarity and angst, has feels galore, and is going to continue for many more chapters to come...this is the story for you.]

Characters

01. Jo/Josephine Holbrook

A mutant who's built like a tank. She's got that whole super strength and super healing thing, so she's kinda indestructible. She's retired at the age of twenty-eight, but she's going back in. This might be her only chance to see Tony Stark up close and retirement gets boring after the first year.

02. Viper

Also known as Madame HYDRA, is not a nice person. She doesn't work exclusively for HYDRA, but that doesn't mean she isn't still a pain in the Avengers' side.

03. Sinthea Shmidt

The daughter of Johann Shmidt, better known as Red Skull. Not one to be messed with.

04. Amora

The Enchantress hails from Asgard. She's a powerful sorceress and isn't Thor's biggest fan.

05. Jade

Clint's chicken, that he won in a poker game after dirty boxing a giant Scottish gangster. She's pretty chill for a chicken and can be found roaming throughout the mansion

06. Remy LeBeau/Gambit

He's a mutant and a friend of Jo's. He's currently working at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and is dating Anna Marie/Rogue.

07. Doreen Green/Squirrel Girl

A mutant with squirrel-like powers. Just because she's tiny and cute doesn't mean she can't kick ass, and she's auditioning to be an Avenger.

08. Anna Marie/Rogue

The adopted daughter of Wolverine, the little sister of the Tank, and the fiancé of Gambit. Not that she needs any of them to fight for her. Nope, she can kick ass all on her own, thank you very much.

09. Illyana Rasputin

She’s the younger sister of Peter Rasputin, also known as the X-Man Colossus. She’s a recent graduate of the Academy, but she’s not sure about joining the X-Men yet. She’s young and wants to see the world, but she wants to find her friend and sometimes mentor first.

I am dying to write the AoU events, but there's so much to do before then.

I was sorry to hear about your thumb! I've had a few broken bones myself, and they're never fun. (For me, the worst part is the cast because it gets so itchy! Did you have the problem?) How's your thumb now?
