Life of Alexia Barnes

When he asked me that question I knew I couldn't cry in front of him. I had to be brave for me,my family,Steve,but most importantly Bucky.
"Yeah" I said quietly looking away so that he wouldn't be able to see the single tear falling down my right cheek.
"Hey what's what's wrong Alexia?" Bucky said turning her around so he could see her face.
I look down.Then quickly back up again. I force a chuckle. "Nothing it's just..." loosing my train of thought.
"Just what? Tell me what's going on."Bucky said full of concerned in his voice.
That's when the tears started instantly flowing down my cheeks, I couldn't hold them back.
"What if you don't come back Bucky? I don't want to loose my brother but more importantly my best friend and my hero."
"Aww... i'm your best friend. That's kind of sad when you think about it." he said jokingly.
"Bucky, i'm being serious! A lot of people die in wars. Last week Dianne Johnson got a letter from the army saying that her brother Johnny was killed in action! She hasn't been the same since. What if that happens to you and I become like Dianne?"
"Let me ask you a question am I johnny Johnson?"
"No" I said "but..."
"No buts, Alexia" he said cutting me off. "So that means you have nothing to worry about". after a couple seconds later he said "I'll tell you what i'm going to make you a promise."
"A promise,what are we 10?"
"My promise is that I will come back to you. And that you will be the first person I will hug when I come back home.I will make it back home Alexia."
"Yeah but..." I started.
"Have I ever lied to you before?" Bucky asked.
"Yes! Countless of times!" I yelled.
"Well i'm not lying this time" he said soothingly."Come on kid,you're going to make your brother/hero late for his train."Bucky said smiling.

It was me, my parents, and Steve saying goodbye to Bucky. First he went up to my parents.
"Bye ma, bye pops.Try not to miss me too much,and do me a favor and keep an eye on Alexia she's becoming like me... A troublemaker." he said while hugging them. All my parents did was nod. Then he goes to Steve.
"Steve you're my best friend and a brother to me,I need you to be safe I won't be there anymore to save your butt."
"Okay Buck." Steve said.
"And promise me you'll keep an eye on Alexia for me. She's not just my sister she's your's to. Oh and Steve?"
"I'm with you till the end of the line pal."They hug and he moves on to me.
"Alexia, before I leave I want to give you this." he says while pulling out a circle shaped sliver locket with my initials curved into it A.L.B. (Alexia Logan Barnes) inside was a picture of me and Bucky and on the other side a picture of me and Steve.
"Yeah I had to work extra shifts at the dinner to get it, but it was worth it." he said while putting on the locket on me.
"Thank you Bucky, I love it." I said while engulfing him in a hug.
"I'm going to miss you kid." he said while a single tear going din his left cheek."Promise you'll write me."
"I will" I said sadly.
with that Bucky went on the train. And we stayed there until the train was gone.
Steve went up to me and said while hugging me "everying's going to be okay alexia."
And with that Bucky was gone.
